ENGC Wins the NRA's 2006 Outstanding Club Award

Fairfax, VA - The Eastern Nebraska Gun Club was the recipient of the NRA's 2006 Outstanding Club Award during the National Rifle Association's National Awards Program in Arlington, VA.

The Omaha, Nebraska club was presented the honor during a special ceremony at which NRA President John C. Sigler presided. The NRA National Awards Program is offered as a part of NRA's fall Board of Directors meeting. The Outstanding Club Award is presented annually to an NRA-affiliated club with a highly distinguished record of service and organization. The club selected to receive this award must epitomize the ideals to which all NRA-affiliated clubs should strive.

The Eastern Nebraska Gun Club provides a wide variety of options for shooters, including: a 600 yard rifle range with covered shooting stations, 200 and 300 yard firing points for high powered rifle matches, silhouette facilities at various distances, a 100-yard multi-purpose range, a trap field, a 50-yard range, and six pistol ranges.

The club actively keeps youths and other shooters involved by hosting a youth shooting program, several types of shooting matches, a hunter education course, and multiple hunter sight-in days before deer season. Founded in 1963 as a private club, members, owns its own land, hosts national matches, and is still 100 percent run by dedicated volunteers.

The National Awards Program recognizes outstanding service of those who support the NRA in areas such as legislative affairs, club operation, youth programs, and fund-raising. "The people we recognize through these awards have distinguished themselves through their dedication to the NRA and their fellow gun owners," said NRA President Sigler. "We take great pride in honoring them for their leadership in advancing the shooting sports and their untiring activism on behalf of our Second Amendment rights."

The ENGC is physically located 2.5 miles East of Louisville, NE. North side of Highway 66. See map.
